Welcome Reception

August 29 (Sunday), 17:00

at the Department of Computer Science
Nöthnitzer Straße 46, Dresden

At 17:10 we will head for the Bismarck Tower, which offers a nice view over Dresden. There will be a guided tour (approx. 1h). Afterwards we will go back to the faculty where a buffet is going to wait for us.

Dinner

August 31 (Tuesday), 20:00

Saxon specialties will be served to you in the historical vaults of the restaurant Sophienkeller. You will step back into the 18th century, and enter the world of August the Strong who was Elector of Saxony and King of Poland. The restaurant is in the historical centre of Dresden in the vaulted ceilings of the Taschenbergpalais, opposite of the Dresden Zwinger.

Excursion

September 1 (Wednesday), 14:15-18:45

A bus brings you from the workshop venue to Pillnitz Castle, the former summer residence of the Saxon monarchs. You will see the unique castle complex and the park. On board of a historic paddle steamer you will enjoy Dresden from the riverside and enjoy the remarkable scenery of the Elbe valley. Afterwards you will get a closer look to the historic city of Dresden and will be guided along the most important sights, for example the Brühl Terrace (also called the "Balcony of Europe"), the reconstructed Frauenkirche and the Neumarkt quartier, the Procession of Princes, the Royal Palace, the Semper Opera House and the Dresden Zwinger (all exterior views).

Please book the social program at the online registration form when registering to the conference. Participation in these events is included in the registration fee. It is possible to book additional tickets for the social events for an extra fee.
